Alpha Project

Thank you to Alpha Project for all you do to serve San Diego’s homeless population. We were proud to help again this year and exceeded our expectations, thanks to the generous support of our donors. Yesterday we delivered well over 800 pounds of dog food (nearly 2,000 meals), dozens of blankets, leashes, food bowls, and more. Many people believe that the homeless should not be dog owners. The reality is many if not most of these dogs would be in high kill shelters. In our years of experience we have witnessed the homeless put the needs of their dogs ahead of their own. It gives them a reason to carry on, and most importantly, gives them their only companionship. Staff at Alpha have told us that they have seen an uptick in dog ownership by the homeless during Covid as social isolation has increased. We aren’t out there solving this problem, but we believe we can help improve their condition, one dog at a time. Proverbs 19:17
